Suspect Device #3 anthology

Here's another short comic I did for the Suspect Device #3 anthology. In case you're unfamiliar with the concept, editor Josh Bayer sends you a bunch of panels from two different comic strips (this go-round was Little Orphan Annie & Popeye). Traditionally, you're expected to use one of the panels at the beginning of your new comic and another at the end. What you do in-between to connect the dots is up to you.

I ended up using several of the original panels instead of just two (other artists used one, none, altered the existing panels or whatever else they felt like doing).

In related news, we carry both Suspect Device #3 and Suspect Device #2 in the Birdcage Bottom Books store!

Bayer & Yost at MoCCA Fest 2013!

Bayer (drawn by Box Brown) & Yost: Don't look them in the eyes.

We just got our table assignment from MoCCA. I'll be representing Birdcage Bottom Books and sharing a table with Mr. Josh Bayer. Our drawing styles don't have much in common, but we do both have beards.

We'll be debuting a new book by Ben Snakepit ("Snake Pit Gets Old: Daily Diary Comics 2010 - 2012") and running some sales, so please drop by table B-58!

DIGESTATE contributors at SPX 2012

Turns out 18 of the Digestate contributors will be at SPX this year, so we've put together this handy map in case you'd like to get your book signed by them.

Victor Kerlow, Josh Burggraf & J.T. Dockery will be at SPX, although they don't have a table this year. But, if you want them to sign your book, you're in luck! Victor & Josh will be signing at the Birdcage Bottom Books table (H13) from 1:30 until 2:30 on Sunday and J.T. Dockery will be signing from 3:00 until 4:00 on Sunday.

We'll be handing out copies of this map with each book, so don't worry about trying to print out this lo-res version!

DIGESTATE Kickstarter campaign is aLIVE!

Alright, folks.
This is do or die for me. I've been working my butt off (along with over 50 contributing artists) to put together a huge collection of food & eating themed comics called "DIGESTATE". I can't afford to publish it without a little help, so I've put together a Kickstarter campaign to fund the base cost of printing.    It'll cost a lot more than what I'm asking, but I don't want to get greedy since Kickstarter is all or nothing!

Anyhow, please check out the campaign here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/birdcagebottombooks/digestate-a-food-and-eating-themed-comic-anthology

Dolla Dolla Billz at MoCCA 2012

Fairly accurate in representing our respective profits. Note the self-destructing t-shirt display.
Another MoCCA fest under my belt (no wonder my pants no longer fit). As always, it was a privilege and a pleasure to share a table with Mr. Victor Kerlow, and to be flanked by my Rabid Rabbit peeps Josh Burggraf, Sungyoon Choi & Eric Watkins.

I tried to keep my spending to a minimum, but I did pick up a few comics: Josh Bayer's amazing anthology "Suspect Device", Rich Tommaso's "Pete & Miriam" and Box Brown's "The Survivalist" among others. Also got my contributor copies of Rabid Rabbit #14, which is unsurprisingly fantastic.

Anyhow, gotta get back to work!
